Mary B Kaylor, 87, current resident of Endwell NY, longtime resident of Pearl River NY, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2016. Born in May 1929, she grew up in Dobbs Ferry, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Catherine (Kitty) and Peter Busher as well as her brother Peter. Mary was married for 42 years to her own, her one true love George M Kaylor until his death in 1994. She is survived by their children Linda (Art) Quimby, Eileen (Michael) Napoli, Suzanne (Gary) Freed, Elizabeth Kaylor, Jeanne O'Brien and Mark Kaylor, along with fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She graduated from the College of Mount St. Vincent in 1950. Her career as a first-grade teacher in Nanuet Public Schools began a long history of involvement in the Nanuet community. This included many years as a parishioner, organist and choir member at St Anthony's Church. She enjoyed her work for Rockland Federal Credit Union and the friendships she developed there. Moving to Good Shepherd Village in Endwell in 2013 brought her into a new community full of new friends and activities. Favorite hobbies included gardening, knitting, dollhouse decoration and a love for the NY Yankees. Her smile and her positive, upbeat outlook will be missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Tuesday and 9:30 - 11:00 am Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery in Monsey, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Communities Foundation, 32 Village Drive, Endwell, NY 13760.
